US Neglecting Asia

Dick Armitage (R), former Deputy Secretary of State under Colin Powell, gave a wonderful little interview comparing the Bush Administration's foreign policy towards Asia with toddler athletics:

"We're playing foreign policy at the moment like five-year-olds play soccer, everyone is going after the ball at once rather than covering the whole field."

This interview with Armitage comes on the heels of relayed commentary from the folks back home concerning how most Americans simply don't care about China, or couldn't even imagine letting their kids go to a country where foreigners get kicked out of taxi cabs for bad Mandarin pronunciation. It's a good thing American businesses aren't quite as singly focused.
