Unnamed lecturer

In one of our classes this week, the lecturer's slides contained pictures from the 1989 "Incident," in particular a photo (displayed here) of the protesters holding aloft a statue vaguely reminiscent of Lady Liberty. "Freedom," explained the professor, and then he laughed. What was most interesting to me, however, was that the slide deck was prepared by one of his grad students. One would think that the Chinese government would have a little less faith in the American IT industry.
