Evidently Peking University just opened a second law school, this one in Shenzhen, so that Chinese students to earn an English-language J.D. without leaving China. And sit for the New York Bar.
At $10,000 a year, such an undertaking is no small burden for the average Chinese person. It also seems like a pretty big gamble for those in the first class, given that most states won't let you sit for the bar unless you've attended an ABA accredited school. And the school won't be accredited for a while.
Regardless of what Professor Henderson has to say, there's simply no way that PKU's new law will debut in Tier 1. Reputation is a large component of law school rank, and PKU's new law school is too new to have one.
