Reading Round-Up

  • The Washington Post has a great article on what can happen to Chinese muckrakers. Provincial journalists, take note.
  • The Australian has two pieces by Andrew Trounson and Robin Bromby about China's role in the proposed acquisition of Rio Tinto by BHP Billiton. The New Anti-Monopoly Law will not impact this proposed transaction, as it does not become effective for some time.
  • China Law Blog wrote a colorful post about the potential impact of China's new Labor Law. (If you are a company needing help with the new Labor Law, I highly recommend that you call Monica)
  • CIIC has a nice little blurb up about the Politburo taking in lectures on law.
  • Malaysia's The Star discusses changes in Chinese cross-border M&A and PE.
