Where's Irving?
This article in the New York Times and a menorah sighting on last week's episode of "Scrubs" reminded me that the holiday decorations have been trotted out already in the United States, and that the Irving Berlin is no doubt flooding the ears of holiday shoppers at overly decorated places like F.A.O. Schwarz. Here in China, however, the only sign of holiday cheer festooning the local shops was a very tiny ornament hung on the front window of a local haberdashery that we visited yesterday. I suppose that's what happens when you live in China, where atheism reins...dear.
